Home Watch is a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues.
— Official definition, National Home Watch Association
What I Offer
Deer Leap provides professional Home Watch services for second-home owners in the Killington-Pico area of Vermont. Each visit is a scheduled, documented visual inspection of your property — conducted while you are away, reported to you the same day.
What Home Watch Includes
Every visit covers the interior and exterior of your property — HVAC and heating systems, water heaters and plumbing, windows and doors, signs of water intrusion or moisture, electrical panel, visible roof and structural condition, and the general security of the home.
Seasonal visits address the specific risks of each time of year: pre-winter preparation, spring damage surveys, summer rodent and pest inspection, and storm follow-up when conditions warrant.
You receive a written report after every visit. The report documents what was observed, what was done, and what, if anything, requires your attention.
What Home Watch Is Not
Home Watch is a visual inspection service. It is not a guarantee against concealed conditions or events that occur between visits.
Home Watch is not a security service. A consistent, documented presence at your property is a deterrent to opportunistic problems, but Deer Leap does not provide alarm monitoring or armed response.
Home Watch is not house-sitting or live-in property care. Deer Leap does not reside at or occupy client properties.
Additional Services
In addition to Home Watch, Deer Leap offers property stewardship and coordination services including contractor management, seasonal property preparation, and vendor oversight. These services are offered independently of the NHWA Home Watch program.
